Alhaji Abdullahi Mallam, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA), has pledged to restore the agency’s lost glory and drive development in the region.
Mallam expressed his commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s development agenda and promised to implement policies aligned with the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda. He emphasized the critical role of agriculture in national development, focusing on advancing the Presidential Initiative in Agriculture to drive economic prosperity and sustainable growth in the region.
The new MD also extended a hand of collaboration to stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, legislators, and the private sector, to bring democratic dividends to over 27 million people in the agency’s mandate states. He vowed to improve working conditions, expressing nostalgia for the agency’s past reputation and stressing the importance of revitalizing the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority.
Mallam called for honesty, dedication, and hard work from staff and stakeholders, urging collective efforts to uplift the organization. His appointment marks a renewed drive towards enhancing the SRRBDA’s role in irrigation, water resource management, and agricultural development, aligning with the federal government’s broader economic revitalization efforts ¹.
