The new Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr Philip Aivoji, has sued for peace and unity among members of the party in order to win the state in the upcoming elections.
Philip, who was a former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism in the state, made this known during the inauguration of the party executives in the state on Tuesday.
The ex-commissioner noted that there will be a new structure in place at every unit where votes come from.
He stated that his administration will adopt the approach of leading by example even as it would guarantee transparency and honesty.
While stating that they are going to be firm, resolute and show that the party is supreme, the chairman added that those who deserve to be honoured will be honoured while those who deserve to be punished will be.
“My first priority is to unite everyone to come together as a formidable team to deliver Lagos State for PDP.
“I will also bring in a new structure that will endure to win the state.

It would be recalled that Aivoji was elected the new chairman of the PDP in the state at the state congress held in Lagos.
In a keenly contested congress, Aivoji polled 839 votes to defeat his closest contender, Dr Amos Fawole, who polled 816 votes.
Announcing the results, the Chairman, Electoral Committee for the Lagos State Congress of PDP and Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, said the committee was fair and transparent in the conduct of the congress.
