Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in a Sunday night video message, disclosed a conversation with US President-elect Donald Trump.
Calling it a “very friendly, very warm, and very important conversation,” Netanyahu said they discussed “the need to complete Israel’s victory” and freeing hostages in Gaza.
Addressing Syria, Netanyahu stated he has instructed the Israel Defense Forces “to thwart potential threats from Syria and to prevent terrorist elements from taking over near our border.”
He noted the IDF’s airstrikes have destroyed “capabilities that the Assad regime had built over decades” and disrupted “arms supply routes from Syria to Hezbollah.”
While emphasising that Israel has “no interest in confronting Syria,” Netanyahu vowed to continue targeting Hezbollah. “We will continue to act as much as necessary, in every arena and at any time,” he said.
