The news just filtered in that six workers of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc; (NAHCO) have been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over a failed attempt to export illegal drug out of the country on Monday.
The drug was said to have been concealed in two bags which were subsequently intercepted by the NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos on Monday.
The arrested NAHCo staff who have been alleged to be a part of a cartel of drug carriers operating around the airport were eventually picked up at different locations in Lagos State.
The suspects planned to smuggle the 26 kilogrammes of the narcotic aboard an Addis Ababa bound Ethiopian Airline’s flight.
