The Director of Media and Corporate Communication of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr Felix Ale, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father-in-law, Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi, J.P, the former Executive Chairman of Ondo West Local Government Council of Ondo state.
In a special statement on Sunday, Ale extolled Chief Akinpelumi as a scholar, visionary leader, and devoted family man whose legacy has touched countless lives and inspired future generations.
“Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi was not just a scholar but a first-class mathematician whose brilliance illuminated the path for many aspiring minds.
“His ability to make complex concepts accessible and engaging made him a revered figure in education. Many of his students, who have gone on to achieve great heights globally, are a testament to his dedication and passion for teaching,” he said.
The statement further stated that beyond academics, Akinpelumi’s tenure as the Executive Chairman of Ondo West Local Government Council was marked by visionary leadership.
“He championed development projects that improved the lives of the people he served, always guided by a sense of duty and integrity. His ability to balance authority with compassion earned him respect and admiration.”
Ale also emphasized the late leader’s deep spiritual commitment as a devout Catholic and dedicated church leader.
“His unwavering faith, wisdom, and grace guided his community and were the cornerstones of his character. Chief Akinpelumi was a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom, and a constant source of love and support to his family”.
He said Chief Akinpelumi’s contributions extended beyond his professional achievements to his role as a community leader and Bobatolu of Ondo Kingdom.
“His initiatives and efforts brought people together, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. His legacy is one of compassion, service, and unwavering dedication to the greater good,” Dr. Ale said.
Ale concluded by reflecting on the profound impact of Akinpelumi’s life: “In the words of his students, colleagues, family, and community, Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi was more than a remarkable individual—he was an inspiration and a testament to the extraordinary impact one person can have on the world.”
Fred Ojo Akinpelumi served as Chairman of the Ondo West Local Government Council from 2003 to 2007 and held the prestigious title of Bobatolu of Ondo Kingdom, leaving behind a legacy of service, scholarship, and community leadership.
