GOVERNOR Umaru Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa state has given out five (5) Vehicles and ten (10) Motorcycles to the state’s Internal Revenue Service, in order to enhance collections of revenue across the state and beyond.
State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Planning, Ayuba Ayinaje revealed this while speaking to pressmen at the official handing over of ten Motorcycles to beneficiaries at the Revenue House, Lafia.
Representing the Commissioner, Mr. James Agot, Director for Revenue and finance of the ministry, commended the Governor for the foresight to donate such operational vehicles to the Board to facilitate collections of revenue to meet up with N1 billion monthly target.

“For areas that the Board couldn’t reach before, these would help go forth and collect revenue for the state government, and Internal Generated Revenue supplements some of the Government’s efforts in meeting the demands of people in the state.
“I think, Governor Tanko Al-makura has done a great thing, by providing these vehicles for the Board to internally generate revenue for the utilization of the state.
“For what he has done, we need to appreciate him, and I think if such would continue we would be boosting our IGR like Lagos and others states who can survive without Federal allocation,” the commissioner stressed.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Board for Internal Generated Revenue in the state, Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu Muhammad thanked the Governor for supporting the Board with new office and now donating some operational vehicles.
“Since we came into office in March this year, His Excellency has provided us with the necessary support to aid our activities, these include; the provision of new office known as the Revenue House, increase in our monthly overhead, provision of One Toyota Hilux Pickup, One 18 seats Toyota Hiance Bus, One Toyota Corolla Salmon Car, Two Volkswagen Golf Cars and Ten Motorcycles.”
Cautioning officers-in-charge of the offices in Lagos, Abuja, Karu, Keffi, Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, Mararaba, Ado, Masaka, Toto, Garaku, and Doma; who benefited from the gesture to handled it with care, adding that “these vehicles and motorcycles are strictly meant for field operations and any other official activities tailored to increase the state IGR and not for any private usage.”
