The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has appealed to the newly appointed director-general of the Department of Security Service (DSS), Alhaji Yusuf Bichi, to give maximum protection to Nigerian students in the light of the prevailing security challenges.
In a statement issued in Kaduna and signed by NANS president, Mr Obande Gideon, and the president of the senate of the association, Mr Abdulmajeed Oladimeji Oyeniyi, NANS expressed its worry over the prevailing security challenges in the country.
“Every day, people are either kidnapped or killed in the most barbaric manner. Many of our students have paid the supreme sacrifice for no reason other than the selfish interest of our politicians.

“We equally wish to appeal to all Nigerian citizens to give the new director-general the support that will move this country forward, most especially in the area of intelligence gathering,” the statement added.
