Konbowei who took to his Facebook page to publish the alleged threat to his life about 1 am Tuesday 11th September 2018, said that some aggrieved members of the party sent him text messages threatening to harm him, claiming he manipulated the results of the ward congress.
According to him, some few elements from his constituency who sees nothing good in him and the governor of the state, Hon. Seriake Dickson in spite of their efforts at building the party in the state and Southern Ijaw Constituency 4 also threatened to polarize the party in the state.

The Speaker said, “these daredevils have succeeded in their satanic plots in causing divisions among the political players in Southern Ijaw Constituency 4 which I currently represent are threatening to lead massive defection members of PDP in Southern Ijaw constituency 4.”
However, Konbowei said, he has respectfully served the constituency with the fear of God, and have delivered the dividends of democracy to his people.
“I want to urge those behind the act to rather face their elections with the attitude to either win or lose rather than threatening my life.”
When contacted for comment, the speaker didn’t take nor return phone calls put across to him as at press time.
