Mustapha, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a two-page petition dated 19th October, called for security cover to secure his life from attacks by some unknown hoodlums whom, he said, had been threatening his life on the telephone.
The Egba High Chief said he started receiving threat calls shortly after his remarks made at a solidarity meeting held at the Iperu Remo country home of the governorship candidate of the party, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

“Trouble started shortly on Sunday 14th October 2018 after I made the ‘short remark’ at a solidarity meeting in honour of Prince Dapo Abiodun, whereby I expressed my support for Abiodun and representatives of invited media organisations carried the report in their publications the following day.
“It is evident from my speech in Iperu that I am one of the main backers/supporters of Abiodun who the National Working Committee has confirmed as the party’s governorship candidate in Ogun State.
“Within a few hours that the news item cum link became trending in both the social and traditional media, I have come under scathing attacks by unknown persons who have been doing the bidding of their paymaster and have resorted to both phone calls threatening my life, hurling abuses and curses at my humble self.

Meanwhile, Lori-Ogbebor said the current situation in the country called for concern.
She said: “These political leaders are at it again because they want to control Delta State; they are both in the APC and PDP. Soon, they will be playing godfathers to both sides. About few days ago, I reported cases of selection and manipulations by certain parties.
“Where do we go from here? It is a shame that the two major parties have no ideology distinct from each other.
“This leaves clear road for them to move into each other’s camps to cross over, especially when they are looking for party that is likely to win, which can give them cover for the corrupt, fraudulent and dishonest acts that they have done.”
“There are seven communities in the middle of oil production that have no water to drink since the existence of oil in this country.
“After much agitation, Chevron and the state government decided to give the people water. Chevron brought out about N467 Million. The state government took from the coffers of Delta State another N450 million. Both monies disappeared. No water, no money, where is the money? The Delta State Government must tell us.
“In the same oil producing area called Baterin, a healthcare clinic was built costing N57 Million. Nothing has come out of it.
“A lot of our people have died on their way to Warri-pregnant women and the sickly. The Oheye market have millions of naira wasted. There is no account for it.
“The Itsekiri Regional Development Council (IRDC) is an organ created to help the development of the Itsekiri land. To this date, about N7 Billion has been given to the IRDC and there is nothing to show for it. I have just been able to freeze N2.2 Billion by the order of the court,” she said.
