MTN Nigeria inspires local change-makers at ‘Go MAD Benin activation

In its effort to inspire Nigerians, particularly the youths, the telecommunication giant, MTN Nigeria, weekend light up Benin, the Edo State Capital with it “Go Make A Difference (Go M.A.D”, with a fusion of inspiration, culture and digital experiences.

The telecommunication giant Go M.A.D initiative, which has journeyed through cities like Abuja, Enugu, Calabar and Ibadan, according to the organisers, was designed to celebrate and support Nigerians who are creating positive change in their communities.

In his address, the Senior Manager, Sales and Trade Development, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Olaniyi Alabi, said the campaign has stayed true to its mission, spotlighting local change-makers and reminding guests of the power of resilience and innovation in tough times.

“Times are tough, but one thing that defines Nigerians is our resilience and energy. How we consistently push limits and find ways to achieve our dreams.

“This campaign is a celebration of that resilience. It is MTN’s way of saying: ‘We see you, we support you and we’re here to make your lives easier,” he said

It was gathered that each of the Go MAD activation immerses guests in a unique mix of culture and technology, featuring everything from virtual reality showcases to energetic DJ sets, dance performances and interactive games.

The Benin edition was no different, offering an electrifying experience that reinforced MTN’s commitment to digital empowerment and positive community impact.

One of the most moving highlights at the Benin event was the icons of impact session, where local change-makers shared their personal stories of transformation and service.

Princess Omoyemwen Adeyinka Afolabi, a sports enthusiast and life coach, shared her Go MAD story of how she has continued to inspire Nigerians in her own little way.

According to her, Having spent nearly two decades using the power of sports to transform young lives, Princess Afolabi disclosed that she has helped many students in underserved public schools to secure scholarships through athletic excellence.

Afolabi added that she has also provided school fees and learning materials for the people, maintaining that her mission is rooted in access and opportunity.
