McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has announced the inaugural induction of its nursing graduates into the nursing profession.
The Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Relations of the university, Sanmi Enigbokan, made this known on Monday through a communique seen by Tribune Online.
According to the statement, the induction would be held on the university premises on Wednesday.
Relevant stakeholders in the education sector, staff and students of the university, and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria are expected at the event.
Dr Dorothy Odetola of the Department of Community Health Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, is expected to speak on ‘Advancing frontiers in nursing education and practice: Effect of japa syndrome on sub-Saharan Africa’.
According to the statement, the university’s maiden nursing graduates came out with flying colours in the recently held Nursing Council Examination.
“This is an attestation to the university’s commitment to building a new generation of nursing professionals that would positively impact the global community,” the statement reads.
