THE police in Borno State on Friday paraded a 46-year-old man who allegedly raped a 92-year-old woman.
Parading the suspect, Zakariya Ya’u, in Maiduguri, the Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, said the suspect, Usman Haruna, committed the offence in Askira in Uba Local Government Area of the state.
The commissioner said: “On 24/03/2022, at about 1300hrs, one Usman Haruna ‘M’ of Askira/Uba L.G.A of Borno State reported at Askira/Uba Division that one Zakariya Ya’u ‘M’ 46 years old of the same address forcefully had canal knowledge/ sexual intercourse with one Wamdubu Bello ‘F’ 92 years old of the same address.

Case is under investigation.” Also paraded by the commissioner is one Clement Asuk of Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State who was arrested at a Kano motor park on March 30, 2022, at about 7.22 a.m.
CP Umar said: “Credible intelligence and surveillance team of the command who were on morning patrol arrested him with the following exhibits: 126 anti-aircraft ammunition, 222 7.62mm live ammunition, 517 7.62mm by 51 live ammunition, 7.62mm by 39 live ammunition, two empty magazines of Ak-47 rifle, four RPG, one hand grenade, five perfume, application form of Nigeria Navy, three tooth piece, two small sartons of fish, one anti-aircraft ammunition belt, one wrist watch, five rings, three cowries, one Infinix phone, one charger, the sum of N15,250.”
