Maintain public facilities in your communities, World Bank charges leaders in Delta

The World Bank Independent Verification Agents (IVA), team has charged communities in Delta State to provide modalities that could effectively maintain the various facilities built for their benefit.

The World Bank IVA team leader for Delta State, Mr. Samuel Egbo, gave the charge during on-the-spot checks on some of the activities of the delivery platforms in communities across the state.

Egbo who was appreciative of the enormous work of the various delivery platforms advised the community leaders to encourage their people to effectively use the facilities for their own good.

The members also inspected the recently constructed six units of public toilets alongside borehole water facility and tanks in Ellu community, Isoko North Local Government Area.

Nigerian Tribune reports that residents of both communities were elated by the World Bank and state government’s initiative to respond to their needs and promised to judiciously maintain the facilities.

Orubu and the monitoring and evaluation officer of the state’s CARES steering committee, Mrs. Abigail Okonkwo, disclosed that the World Bank intervention projects had spread across many communities in the state, adding that more communities will also be given attention.
