Bishop of Ilaje Diocese, Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Issac Adeniji, has encouraged the newly-ordained priests to imitate the life of Jesus Christ as they started a new journey in God’s vineyard.
Adeniji stated this at the ordination service, held at Holy Trinity Cathedral Church, Igbokoda, Ondo State, adding that, “They should be faithful in their duties and win more souls for Christ.”
He also urged them to be honest and make the presence of God a priority in their ministry.
“This is a call to service and you need to be faithful and win more souls for God because this is what God is expecting of you. Don’t disappoint God and everything you do must be according to the glory of God.”
Some of the ordained deacons are; Abejoye Okanmiyin, Adejimi Ajibola, Asogbon Elisha, Ikuenogbon Nicholas and Sofoluwe Raphael.
Also, the ordained priests include, Idowu Ayodele, Omomobi Adekunle, while Statutory Canons are: Julius Abiodun, Gabriel Ogunyemi, Salvation Obazuwaye and Nelson Okunomo, among others.
Earlier in his sermon, the guest preacher, Venerable Olusola Ogunseiye of the Anglican Church of Healing Cross, Idi-Aba, Adeokuta, Ogun State, urged the new ordianed clerics to draw more people to Christ through their effectiveness in the ministry of the God.
He said they should be wise like snakes and behave like doves, saying, “It will simplify help them as they journey into their different ministries.”
Ogunseiye added that they should see their new titles as a new challenge, just as he told them to identify with their callings.
