OVERSEER, Agwada Development Area of Nasarawa State, Mr Mikailu Salihu, has constituted a 7-man task force committee in order to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the area and the state at large.
The committee was constituted at the official meeting with directors and staff of the council at the Secretariat office, Agwada on Wednesday.
Addressing the committee, the Overseer charged them to ensure all revenues to the council are properly collected and remitted, adding that they should also explore new ways to generate more revenue for the development of the area.

He stated that the aim of the meeting was to discuss issues that would move the area to greater heights while assuring the staff that he would continue to initiate good policies and programmes that would improve on their standard of living.
“I want to announce the constitution of seven-man task force committee on revenue because we cannot continue to depend on federal and state government allocations.
“There is the need for us to explore more ways of generating revenue to the development area in order to improve on the living condition of our people as well as boosting the socio-economic development of the area and the state at large,” he said.
Salihu also charged the committee to be transparent and accountable while discharging their duties in order to repose the confidence the council have on them.
The Overseer also advised the council’s staff to shun absenteeism, lateness to duties and to be dedicated and committed to their duties in the interest of peace and national development.
“I want to use this medium to commend Gov Tanko Al-Makura for initiating good policies and programmes that have a direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.
He called on the people of the state and Nigerians to give their maximum support and cooperation to Gov Al-Makura and President Buhari beyond 2019 to enable them succeed in the task ahead of them.
The council’s boss enjoined the people of the area and Nigerians at large to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliation.
Responding, Messers Aliyu Adamu, Emma Barnabas, the council’s Director of Personnel Management (DPM) and the council NULGE chairman respectively assured the Overseer of their support and cooperation.
However, those constituted the seven man committee includes: Mallam Adamu Ahmed as Chairman, Danjuma Namo as Secretary while Adamu Adamu, Suleiman Abdullahi, Muhammadu Musa, Sunday Ogah to serve as members.
