Rivers State
THE Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, yesterday warned his successor, Nyesom Wike the Governor of Rivers State to leave his wife out of his unguided utterance, noting that “I didn’t run River State as a family business when I was the governor”.
Amaechi who explained that his wife is a trader and did not interfere with how he governed the State when he was at the helm of affair equally threatened to expose the governor’s wife “if he (Wike) does not shut up his mouth.”
The Minister, who is obviously angry at the allegation levelled against his wife by the River State governor, also tagged the behavior of Wike to that of a thug who could hardly expressed himself properly in English.
It will be recall that, the Governor two days ago alleged that each commissioner and local government chairman in Rivers State paid the erstwhile governor’s wife, Judith Amaechi, N3m and N2m monthly, respectively.
However, when asked to react to this allegations while on an inspection programme at the Kaduna Dry Port, Amaechi replied, “By accident of Goodluck Jonathan, I don’t want to attribute it to God, but by the accident of Jonathan, the man takes office and talks rubbish. My wife and family, including my younger brothers and sisters, no one had access to government when I was governor.
