Consequently, the state government has shut down the school to allow tensions go down while people are facing the reality of their missing loved ones.
“The whole of Yobe is still in shock as most people in Damaturu were seen in chatting in small corners about what may have been another monumental tragedy after the Boni Yadi crisis.” Said Modu a commercial transporter.
However, Commissioner of Police Abdulmalik Sunmonu yesternight told the Nigerian Tribune that he was not really certain of the alleged abduction based on the information at his disposal.
He told the Nigerian Tribune that a second headcount of the remaining students will take place Wednesday to ascertain the exact number in the school and what is the next step in getting the full assessment.
He confirmed that during the raid and escape of the Boko Haram Monday night three men were also abducted but released at daybreak to their community.
As at the time of this report, the whole of Busari local government areas housing Dapchi town where the attack by insurgents took place has been on red alert.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Yobe state delegation to the institution and Permanent Secretary Yobe state ministry of Education Alhaji Modu Ajiri was in the school Tuesday to assess things for himself.
After the tour of the hostels and classroom, he announced the closure of the school while addressing the students who returned from their hideout on the assembly ground.
The permanent secretary said the closure of the school was to enable the students to return home and reunite with their families after the horrible experience climbing fence as females.
He urged them to resume after the one the one-week psychological break as more measures are been put in place to ensure adequate security in the school and the entire Dapchi community.
During the inspection first headcount, over ninety-five percent of the about one thousand students and their teachers that escaped to nearby communities had returned.
“Some of them ran long distances from their school while some slept even on the bare floor in the night to escape being captured. The effort has been intensified by the government and security personnel to trace those still at large.”Said another source.
Parents on Tuesday morning besieged the school as to know the whereabouts of their children with some of them shedding tears while others looking visibly worried since their daughters never showed up to hug them.

Modu Usman, another source who escaped from the town told Tribune that he heard some girls crying from his hideout in the bush giving credence to the fact that a number of missing students may still be in the bush as at yesterday.
He said that some parents have also reported to the school authority that their missing children had reached their homes safely.
Cp, Yobe State Command, Abdulmalik Sunmonu, said there has been no established case of abduction in the girls’ technical school even though sources alleged that over ninety-four of the girls are still missing after the first headcount by the authorities.
He told the Nigerian Tribune that a second and more accurate headcount may be conducted on a class to class basis before the end of today.
