LAPO empowers 675,115 community members with health training

The Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to improving the lives of marginalised communities, said it has successfully empowered 675,115 community members across Nigeria with health training in the first quarter of 2024.

It was gathered that the health training programme was conducted for community members and clients of the LAPO Microfinance Bank in Edo, Kogi, Enugu, Rivers, Zamfara, Enugu, Lagos, and Abuja

According to the organisers, the programme is aimed at educating the beneficiaries on the importance of healthy living, disease prevention, and regular medical check-ups.

The programme further covered topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease management and provided participants with the knowledge and skills needed to take charge of the health of beneficiaries.

D Honestus Ayo Obadiora, Executive Director of LAPO, commended the beneficiaries in his address for their enthusiasm and commitment to the programme.

He said: “We are thrilled to see so many community members take advantage of this opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing.

“We encourage all beneficiaries to embrace healthy lifestyle choices and regular medical check-ups to ensure their continued health and prosperity”, he said

It would be recalled that LAPO’s health training programme is part of its broader mission to empower marginalised communities and promote sustainable development.

The organization’s programmes focus on education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and social justice and have impacted millions of lives across Nigeria.
