DETERMINED to contribute to housing provision in view of acute shortage of accommodation in Lagos State, an indigenous developer, Messrs, Landmark Corporate Reality Limited, has commenced works in his new project, “Queens Gardens Estate”, located in the government reservation area (GRA), Isheri North, Ogun State.
The new housing scheme that was conceived to deliver 120 units of 4- bedroom fully detached Duplex and 128 units of 4-bedrooms semi-detached, is to spread across 10 hectares of lush and green landscape, that promised to be completed in ten months.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony in the estate last week, the Chairman of Landmark Corporate Realty Limited Dr. Oluwatayo Fashogbon, declared that the estate will be built using a new technology based building method.
According to Fashogbon, having realised the acute housing deficit in Nigeria, Landmark Reality has come up to contribute her own quota to housing delivery in the country.
“We are pained seeing that accommodation has becoming a serious issue in Nigeria, despite efforts by the governments at the various levels and private developers, to meet housing needs of our people are yet to produce the desire results.
“Based on this, we decided to compliment those efforts in our own little way to ensure provision of quality and avoidable homes, and we started this a long time ago when we completed the Queens Park Estates in Mowe, Ofada, Shimawa, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The chairman noted that Corporate Reality, determined to ensure that majority of Nigerians have access to housing, have decided and encourage people to pay over a period of time on installments. This, he said, will help them to stop payment of rents and own their homes.
According to him, the “pay as you build” payment plan is for a prospective allottee, who may wants to pay for his property without any loan and could make 30 percent initial deposit for foundation, 30 percent within another 90 days to take it up to decking level , 20 percent in another 20 days for roofing and another 20 percent for finishing.
“We strongly believe this will help the allottees to get their homes with little or no stress, thereby help government to reduce housing deficit in the country.
Isheri North is very strategic because it is on the mainland and there are lot of Lagos and Ogun State housing developers participating in affordable housing delivery.
