The Lagos State government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving teachers’ capability in class and students’ performance in their studies and other legitimate engagements in and outside the school.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs Adebunmi Adekanye, made the commitment at a recent seminar organised for teachers in charge of drama and debate in the government-owned schools in the state.
According to her, career development will not only enhance performance of teachers, but will also help them in decision making, creative thinking and resource management.
Mrs Adekanye also noted that debate and dramatic arts also create opportunity for students to be creative and develop interpersonal skills that help them proffer solutions to challenges.
