Lagos State Government has announced a special live festival tagged ‘Eko On Show’ to commemorate Nigeria’s 61st Independence anniversary.
The ‘Eko On Show’, holding on Friday, 15 October at the exquisite Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos, will be a hybrid festival featuring an exhilarating line up of some of Nigeria’s top entertainment and fashion powerhouse via music concert, fashion shows, dance production, and a tantalizing array of food and drink.
Speaking Tuesday at the media unveiling of the Festival, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, the Hon. Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture said Lagos is marking this year’s independence anniversary in a different way and thus the coming of ‘Eko On Show’.
“This Festival is designed to raise the spirits of Lagosians, to give them inspiration, and to entertain them with the rich and vibrant culture of Lagos and its people,” Akinbile-Yusuf said.
According to the Commissioner, Entertainment, fashion and food are huge drivers of the State’s economy and “they embody the spirit of our independence and have helped Nigerian culture to make its mark on the world.”
The Festival will be headlined by music superstars Davido, D’Banj, Tiwa Savage and Teni. They will share the stage with veterans like KWAM 1, Sir Shina Peters, Dede Mabiaku and celebrated drummer, Ara; as well as teenage sensation, Ayra Starr.
Dance fans can look forward to a spectacular performance created by the Kaffy Kreative agency while fashion lovers will be delighted by collections from top designers featuring Lanre Da Silva and Beth Models.
There will be a special segment from Nike Art Gallery to be curated by popular media personality, Azuka Ogujioba.
Amidst strict COVID-19 protocols, Muri Okunola Park will host lucky 500 guests from across Lagos society and thousands of other fun-seekers that would join virtually will be treated to an exhilarating evening of celebration of Nigeria’s music, dance, fashion and foods.
