IT was jubilation in Igbo-Taiwo village as Chief Isiaka Atanda Elegbede was installed the first Baale of Igbo Taiwo, Afonland in Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State
Speaking during the installation, the Oba Ladi of Afon, Oba AbdulRaseed Babade, charged the new Baale to embrace community development
The monarch charged the new Baale to be creative in initiating projects and programmes that will further boost the community development of Igbo Taiwo
In their separate remarks, the Baale of Kessan in Ayetoro, Chief Morufu Opajobi and Jagumolu of Ayetoro, Chief Murithdor Adedeji, admonished the new Baale to see his position as a call to serve humanity and should dedicate himself to the growth of socioeconomic development of the community
In his acceptance speech, Chief Elegbede lauded the monarch and the people of Igbo Taiwo for the honour bestowed on him and thanked the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun for continuous developmental projects at the grassroots, saying this will further fast-track the distribution of dividends of democracy across the state
“I also commend the various strides of Community Development Association (CDA) at complementing the government efforts, by regarding self-help as the best and surest vehicle for development,” Elegbede said
Dignitaries present at the installation, including the Agbakin of Ayetoro, Chief Ganiyu Akinwale Oluwalowi, Chief Segun Alawode, Chief Adebisi Olusegun, Iyalode Saidat Akintunde, among others showered encomium on the choice of Baale Elegbede.
