ACTOR, Oluwafemi Olabode, has said his passion for storytelling led him into Nollywood.
In an interview with R, he noted that he has always loved acting right from his childhood days. Adding that he would go from schools to schools to perform on stage and even in churches.
Apart from his love for acting, he also love the way celebrities influence the society, especially the younger ones and hope he can also be a positive influence in the lives of people.
With many already believing the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood is at par with other movie industries in the world like Hollywood and Bollywood, however he describes Nollywood as a developing industry saying it is not there yet.
“I’ve loved acting right from my childhood days, I would go from schools to schools to perform on stage and even in churches and also steps from my love for interpreting roles; There is still work to be done to attain the level of other movie industries “ He said.
One thing about some actors is that they also prefer certain roles and characters, but Olabode said he is opening to playing different roles because every actor has always dreamt of being versatile, that is, to fit perfectly into any assigned role. For him, however, if he has choices he thinks he loves to act as a gold-digger or lover boy; he thinks he’s good at it but as an actor you can’t tell what role will take you to the limelight, just be versatile and remain focused.
Also personally he wouldn’t love to take any role that will have negative impact on my personal life, family or my religion like going naked on screen or in public, talking blasphemy and all. Having been in the industry for some years, he said his advice to upcoming actors is that they should be hardworking, stay focused, determined and make themselves proud because nobody is ready to help anybody in the industry.
