The Managing Director/ CEO of Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Charles Orie, has threatened to sanction any of the Commission’s appointee caught demanding gratification from the contractors handling their project in the communities.
This was as the Commission which serves as an interventionist agency commenced three contract works in various oil-bearing communities in the state.
The MD in a statement issued in Owerri through his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Demian Opara, warned all the SAs never to distract, disturb, harass ISOPADEC contractors handling the projects that are being undertaken by the Commission.
Orie warned all SAs not to encourage the youths or any group to cause disaffection between ISOPADEC contractors and the communities where these projects are being done.
The MD advised both the youths and traditional rulers in the various communities to corporate with the contractors to ensure effective work and timely completion of the projects.
The MD assured the commitment of the Commission towards addressing all manner of problems affecting the oil-producing communities in the state.
