My girl- friend and I had unprotected sex just once. On the 3rd of June she travelled back to school. She called me last week that she is yet to see her period. We went for an ultra sound and the result said she is 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant. What is the best way to calculate LMP? I also want to know if I am responsible for the pregnancy or not.

Having unprotected sex has many negative consequences. Apart from the possibilities of catching an infection, an unwanted pregnancy just as you now have is another problem. LMP means ‘Last Menstrual Period’ and it is the last day of a woman’s menstrual flow. What you need to know is your girlfriend’s EDD ‘Expected Date of Delivery’. This is calculated by adding 7 days to the day of her LMP and 9 months to the month. Your ownership of the pregnancy or otherwise can only be determined after the baby is delivered and a paternity test is carried out.
