Is this hernia?

I have a small lump in my right groin which comes out when I stand up and goes in when I lie down. One of my friends said that it is a Hernia and I will need an operation to correct it. Kindly let me know if this is a Hernia and what to do about it since I am afraid of an operation.

Yes, it looks very much like a Hernia. Although you did not indicate your age, it will be a good idea to have an operation to correct the problem. When done by experienced hands, the surgery is quite harmless and simple.
