The entertainers, who took to their separate social media accounts on Wednesday and Thursday, claimed only the politicians and the DSS, led by its sacked Director General, Lawal Daura, who were directly or indirectly involved in the invasion, could tell the people what happened.
They warned Nigerians not to be swayed by the politics currently unfolding in the wake of the invasion wrote even as one of them said he feared military takeover if the trend currently threatening the peace of the country was not checked.
Sharing his thought on his twitter account on Wednesday, 2face Idibia, otherwise known as 2baba, posted that by the games politician are playing. 2face added that whatever went down at the National Assembly was known to some people.
“Don’t let politicians fool you only; few know exactly what went down at the National Assembly. Now poor and ordinary Nigerians have taken sides and are fighting one another. Please don’t let these politicians fool you; there is no shame in their game anymore.”
Gongo Aso singer, 9ice, in his post, wrote that he prayed military does not take over, adding that politicians, who are between the ages of 60 and 80, should go back to their houses and allow those between 30 and 55 to take over.
“As things are going, I fear and pray that the Army should not take over. Well, they are still in power. Looking at every angle of authority some of these old people occupy. Allow the youths to govern us. Let all the people between (60-80) go home and enjoy their family. We need people between (30-55),” he wrote.
Also lending his voice, Banky W, who came under attack for supporting the #67 million youths movement, a platform which many people suspected to have been floated to gather public support for the second term ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the 2019 elections, said Nigerian youths are paying for their failure get involved in politics.
According to the RnB singer, the punishment for not getting involved in politics is that the people end up with bad leaders. “What we should be doing is working together to build a new way forward. Not throwing stones and falsely accusing one another.”
