Insecurity/hardship: Be alive to your responsibilities, S/West PDP tells Tinubu

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West Zone has called on President Bola Tinubu to be alive to his responsibilities by addressing the economic and security challenges confronting the nation.

The zonal PDP explained that the citizens of the country have been subjected to economic and security hardship in the last few months, sympathising with the people over the rising negative turn of events.

The opposition party spoke in a communiqué released after its zonal executive meeting held at the party secretariat in Ibadan and signed by the zonal publicity secretary, Chief Sanya Atofarati.

The communiqué also revealed that the zonal secretary, Rahman Owokoniran, gave his stewardship account during his tenure as acting chairman, before the recent appointment of Kamarudeen Ajisafe as the substantive chairman of the party in the zone.

The communique reads, “We empathise with the Nigerian people as they are confronted daily with the hash economy.

“We condemn in totality the rising kidnappings and killings of innocent, helpless, and defenceless Nigerians.

“We are calling on the Tinubu-led Federal Government to rise to its basic responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.

“We appreciate the Executive Governors of Oyo and Osun states, Engr. Seyi Makinde and Governor Ademola Adeleke, for their concerted efforts to combat crimes across the region. while calling on other governors, regardless of political affiliation, to join forces to save the region. in the zone.”
