The District Governor of Rotary International District 9110 Nigeria, Dr. Wale Ogunbadejo visited the Rotary Club of IKate, Surulere on the 3rd of October, 2017.
Part of activities lined up to mark the DG’s visit, was a visit to the Pacelli School For the Blind & Partially Sighted Children situated at No 30 Ajao Road, Surulere and presentation of Computers Desktops & other items to the school.
On hand to receive the DG and members of the Rotary Club of Ikate was the head of the School, Reverend Sister Jane, the Management and Students. At a brief presentation ceremony, the President Rotary Club of Ikate Rotarian Ikechukwu Nwaohiri spoke on the importance of humanitarian service stating that, it’s the bedrock of Rotary.
Making the presentation of the computers and other items to the School on behalf of Rotary Club of Ikate, the District Governor, appreciated the Management & Staff of the the School and averred that, irrespective of their challenges, the children should continue to work hard towards achieving their life ambitions.
The high point of the presentation was the offer of a scholarship to one of the children to study up to the University level. The DG also thanked the President and members of the Rotary Club of Ikate for the donations. No doubt, the event was epoch-making especially for the newly installed President, Rotarian Ikechukwu Nwaohiri who was all smiles.
