The President General Igbo Community Welfare Association (ICWA) Kaduna state chapter, Chief Chris Nnoli has refuted the insinuation that have gone viral on the social media that the Igbos were leaving the state en masse.
Speaking in a news conference in Kaduna on Friday, the Igbo leader remarked that when the news of the Igbos relocating went viral in the social media, “as leaders we monitor the report and studied it thoroughly in order to authenticate the veracity of the report”.

“We also monitor the activities of our men and made consultations among the Igbos in the state and at the end of the day we discover that it was all speculations.”
“None of our members have left. We are calm and we are going about our normal businesses without hindrance. So there is no aorta of truth.”
“People should be mindful as this is a critical moment in our nation. We need peace more than ever before. Kaduna is safe and free.”
Meanwhile, Kaduna state government has also pledged its readiness to provide adequate security to the Igbos living in the state.
The position of the state government was contained in a press statement issued to newsmen in Kaduna on Friday and signed by the governor’s spoke man, Samuel Aruwan.
The statement noted that, “it was clear that some dark forces were bent on causing trouble and behind the mischievous story that some Igbos were ambushed and killed on their way to the Eastern part of the country.”
“We want to reiterate that nobody was attacked as it has been speculated. Our state is safe and the government condemned the use of social media to cause crisis in the state.”
