Ifon/Ilobu/Erin-Osun conflict: Gov Adeleke relaxes curfew to 17 hours

Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed the immediate relaxation of the 24-hour curfew to 17 hours, effective from 2 pm to 7 am the following day.

The Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, who made this known in a statement, said the relaxation of the curfew will take effect from Friday, 28th March 2025, until further notice.

According to him, “The Governor took the decision to alleviate the suffering of residents of the three towns and provide an opportunity for them to attend to their immediate needs.”

While commending the cessation of hostilities so far, the Governor, however, expressed dissatisfaction with reports of another killing, for which the police have made an arrest. He warned that “anybody or group of persons found or caught masterminding any violent act will face the full consequences.”

Governor Adeleke tasked the joint security task force with maintaining their usual 24-hour surveillance to ensure zero tolerance for any act of lawlessness.

Additionally, the Governor further directed the state emergency agency to intensify support services for the displaced people, as previously instructed.Ifon/Ilobu/Erin-Osun conflict: Gov Adeleke relaxes curfew to 17 hours
