The Sokoto State Governor further lambasted the APC led Federal Government for running what he described as “bad governance which has subjected Nigerians to untold hardship, abject poverty and dilapidated infrastructure.”
Aminu Tambuwal who was speaking in his position as The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, lamented that the bad governance of the APC federal government is negatively affecting Nigerians stressing that everyone in the country is on daily basis feeling the negative impact of the bad governance.
Speaking, on Monday, when he led other PDP governors to commission the new completed Bauchi Governor’s office and Government House annex, the Sokoto State Governor said that as it is now, Nigerians are groaning under bad leadership of the ruling APC.
He said that all the PDP governors across the country are performing in their various states even as he called on Nigerians to always pray for them to succeed in providing positive leadership to the people of their respective states.
He stressed that “All our governors are performing to the glory of God. We seek your continued prayers for all our governors and indeed the federal government, if it (federal government) doesn’t perform…, it is not performing, yes, but if it doesn’t perform, it will affect us. And it is already affecting the entirety of Nigeria.”
Aminu Tambuwal further said that “We are feeling the negative impact of the bad governance at the centre. We are praying and hoping that time shall come when the PDP will return to power and restore good governance in Nigeria.”
He then congratulated the Bauchi State Governor for the completion of the government house project which commenced 30 years ago but was abandoned by previous administrations saying that, “it takes a person who believes in good governance to complete a project which started 30 years ago.”
He added: “That is what we believe in the PDP, that governance is a continuum and any project that is meaningful and would add value to the lives of our people that we inherit from our predecessors, be they of the opposition or of the same party, we continue as a matter of good governance with those projects.”
The PDP Governors Forum Chairman added, “And that is what Governor Bala Mohammed has done with this government house annex. We expected no less because you performed as FCT minister, you performed as senator of Nigeria and now you are performing in Bauchi State. We are indeed very proud of you.”
“Several of us have been here some months back to either commission projects or lay the foundation of several projects that are being executed here in Bauchi State, courtesy of your administration, the sky is the limit,” he declared.
In his brief address at the ceremony, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed thanked the PDP Governors’ Forum, for taking out time from the schedule of their meeting in Bauchi state to commission the project.
He said that: “We have never hosted 15 governors in our lives as a state in this part of the country and that was why we leveraged on your presence to commission this project which is partially completed.”
Bala Mohammed said that “This is because I know that you are the representatives of God in your various states delivering services and infrastructure and leadership.”
Earlier, the contractor, Engr Ruben Okoye said that his firm was contracted by the Bauchi State Government to reconstruct the edifice which had been abandoned in the last 30 years expressing optimism that the project will be done according to the specifications.
Ruben Okoye added that “We have seen the governor’s office in Rivers and other states, they are very beautiful edifices, we want what we are doing here to be more beautiful, to be the cynosure of eyes and envy of others.”
