In a bid to help cushion the effect of the current high cost of transportation occasioned by the repeated increase in petrol pump price, a not-for-profit organisation, Tanimowo Pelumi Omojolaade Foundation, has concluded arrangements to offer free bus rides to some residents of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Speaking on the initiative on Friday, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tanimowo Pelumi Omojolaade Foundation, Dr Tanimowo Pelumi Omojolaade, said the organisation understands the hardship being experienced by a group number of Nigerians particularly residents of Ibadan in terms of moving from one place to another as a result of the high cost of transportation fare necessitated by the price of petrol which has continued to be on the high side.
Tanimowo said, “As a private organisation interested in the well-being of the masses, we feel there is the need for us to help some residents of Ibadan especially those who reside in Molete, Felele and environs and this is why we are offering a free bus ride to them at this critical period when a lot of them are finding it difficult to survive on a daily basis.
“The free bus schedule has been divided into two sessions: the morning session is scheduled to be from 6am to 9am daily, while the evening session will be from 5pm to 9pm and will run weekly from Monday to Friday. We urge them to take advantage of this opportunity as we strive to make life more meaningful and worth living for them.”
