Gunmen invade FRSC command in Zamfara, kill officialGUNMEN, on Thursday, invaded the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Tsafe command in Zamfara State, killing an official of the agency.

Confirming the incident to Tribune Online, the agency’s Public Education Officer and spokesman of the Corps, Bisi Kazeem, said that the command in Tsafe, Zamfara State was attacked by gunmen on Thursday morning at about 10:00a.m.

“A Deputy Route Commander of the FRSC was killed by the hoodlums while other staff escaped with one still missing,” Kazeem said, while explaining that the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, had condemned the unprovoked attack.

Kazeem said the FRSC boss, however, sued for calm among officials of the agency and the general public, while the security agencies work to unravel the reason for the attack and those behind it.

Tribune Online gathered that the hoodlums, who were over 20 in number, stormed the premises of the command in motorcycles and opened fire on the FRSC personnel, who scampered for safety.

Unfortunately, one of the personnel, a Deputy Route Commander, was killed, but soldiers who quickly mobilized to the scene were able to kill one of the attackers, while the others escaped.
