Speaking during 50th anniversary of the school in Omu Aran at the weekend, national president of the old boys, Olusegun Adeniyi, listed the projects the association executed for the school to include construction of about one kilometre road that leads to the main entrance of the school and building of a 1,000 capacity ultra modern auditorium.
He said that other projects include administrative block, library block, laboratory blocks of class rooms, computer and internet facilities, modern toilet facilities, and and a Toyota Hiace bus procured for the school.
Adeniyi also said that over the years, the old boys had given scholarship to students for exemplary performance and presented various prizes at yearly prize and thanksgiving day.
He lauded supports of Oyedepo, a member of 1972 set of the school, in the contributions of the old boys to the development of the school.
“I can not but express my gratitude and appreciation to Bishop David Oyedepo for his immeasurable supports and assistance to this school at all times. His untiring efforts had been and are still the pillars which this association can not forget,” he stated.
The president disclosed that the old boys made the contributions to make the school more befitting after it was, due to some logistics, relocated, in 1996, from its original site to the present location formerly occupied by a community high school which did not enjoy the facilities befitting enough for the standard of a government-owned school.
He urged the state governments to come to the aide of the school in perimeter fencing, buildings of school dormitories and staff quarters. and in the other areas of need.
In his address, the state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed who was represented at the occasion by his Special Assistant on Agriculture, Anu Ibiwoye commended contributions of the old boys to the school and urges them to keep the feat.
The governor disclosed that as part of efforts to see that children in the state acquired education that prepare them for the future, his administration has concluded arrangement to rehabilitate an initial 30 secondary schools to bring them to global standard in terms of facilities and quality of teaching.
The school principal, Olusegun Abifarin who is also an old boy of the school commended the old boys, the Parent Teacher Association and the government for their efforts towards development of the school.
