The Niger State government has set up a judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the cases of killings and abductions reported in Mazakuka, Kulho, Adogon-Malam and its environs in Mashegu Local Government Area of the state.
The state noted that the pre-trial conference of the commission will take place between Tuesday, December 14 and Saturday, December 18, 2021.
A statement issued by Secretary of the Commission, Malam Shafii Zakari, a copy of which was obtained by the newsmen on Monday in Minna stated that the pre-trial conference will take place at No. 14 Okada Road, Minna from 9 am.
Zakari, according to the statement, further revealed that the inaugural sitting of the commission and public hearing is scheduled to begin from Monday, December 20 at the same venue from 11 am.
“Governor Abubakar Sani Bello inaugurated the commission of Inquiry with the following terms of reference: determine the remote and immediate causes of the unfortunate incidence, identify the persons or group of persons responsible for the attack, apportion blames to persons or group found culpable and suggest appropriate sanctions and determine the identity of the victims and their losses,” the statement added.
