Governor Yahaya seeks TETFund’s support for tertiary education in Gombe

Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya has visited the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, (TETFund) to seek support for tertiary education in the state.

According to a press release signed and issued to journalists in Gombe by Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Governor visited the TetFUND headquarters in Abuja where he met and discussed with the Executive Secretary of the Fund, Professor Sulaiman Elias Bogoro and his management team on areas of cooperation and intervention.

Uba Misilli stated that the move by the Governor is in further demonstration of his disposition towards improving education in the state and the priority he places on the sector.

The Governor who commended TETFund for its support to tertiary education in the state solicited for more assistance in his administration’s quest to revamp and reposition the education sector in Gombe State at all levels.

The release further contained that the Governor said that there are a lot of challenges with the education sector in Gombe State, hence, his proactive and sustained efforts in finding the solution through the support of relevant agencies such as TETFund and UBEC.

In his response, the Executive Secretary of TetFund, Professor Sulaiman Bogoro who received the Governor in his office, expressed pleasure with Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya’s visit, saying his coming was an indication of his administration’s priority to develop the education sector.

He then assured the Governor of TetFund’s readiness to continue to render support to tertiary institutions in Gombe State in line with its mandate because according to him that was the reason for the establishment of the Fund by the Federal Government in the first place.
