In a historic event marking the end of the Ramadan fast, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, joined the people of Fufore Emirate to commemorate Eid-ul-Fitr with prayers and festivities for the first time as an emirate.
After the two rakat prayers at the Fufore Eid Ground, the Governor, in an interview with journalists, called for peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among citizens to promote unity.
Emphasising the importance of unity, Fintiri stated, “My administration will continue to prioritise peace and tranquillity across the state.”
He urged the people of the state and Nigeria to reflect on the values of love, unity, and respect that the Ramadan season embodies, asserting that these principles are key to the growth currently being experienced in Adamawa State.
In a colourful Dabur ceremony at the King’s Palace, the newly crowned Emir of Fufore, HRH Ahmadu Sani Ribadu, also echoed a call for peace and harmony.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for creating the Fufore Emirate and for celebrating the 2025 Eid-ul-Fitr with the community for the first time in the Emirate’s history.
The Emir urged his people, regardless of religion, to work together for the development of the new Emirate.
As the rainy season approaches, the Emir encouraged his subjects to embrace agriculture and called on the government to support farmers with modern tools to ensure a successful harvest.
