Gov Bala leads Emirs, others to fidau prayers for late Ningi Emir

Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, on Tuesday led other dignitaries to Ningi for a three-day Fidau prayer session for the repose of the late Emir of Ningi, Muhammadu Yunusa Danyaya, in accordance with Islamic injunctions.

The Emir passed away at Expert Alliance Hospital in Kano during the early hours of Sunday after a prolonged illness and was buried the same evening. Prior to his return to Nigeria for continued treatment, the late Emir had undergone medical treatment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Governor Bala Mohammed was joined in the prayers by all other Emirs in the state, led by the Chairman of the Bauchi State Traditional Council, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, as well as prominent personalities from within and outside Bauchi State who attended the special prayer session.

The prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque, Imam Bala Baban Inna, and was aimed at seeking Allah’s forgiveness for the shortcomings of the late Emir.

Speaking at the occasion, Bala Mohammed extolled the virtues of the deceased and promised that a credible member of the royal family would be installed in accordance with the late Emir’s wishes.

Governor Mohammed acknowledged the late Emir’s contributions to the state and his commitment to peace and development.

On behalf of the state’s traditional institutions, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, also prayed for Allah to grant eternal rest to the deceased. He noted that the gathering was a testament to the respect and admiration held for the late Emir, who passed away after a prolonged illness.
