IN its determined efforts to boost internally generated revenue, Gombe State Government a Board of Internal Revenue tasking the new Board to work hard in meeting the expectations of the people of the State in terms of more revenue generation.
The State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo gave the charge while inauguration the new Board members under the Chairmanship of Mohammed Adamu Damji saying that their appointments were based on merit.
Adamu Damji had long been the Chairman of the Board while the new board members inaugurated to represent the three senatorial zones of the State are Mohammed Dala, Gombe central; Alhaji Abubakar Alkali, Gombe North and Mr Nathan Jamiel to represent Gombe south.
Also inaugurated were the new executive board members which include, Mohammed Musa as Executive Director Operations; Wesley Kusuma Audu, Executive Director, Tax Audit; Mijinyawa Sani Labaran, Executive Director, Non Tax Revenue; Aishatu Yakubu, Executive Director, Finance and Administration while barrister Jessica David is to serve as Secretary/Legal Adviser of the Board.
The State Governor also received the report of a committee inaugurated last year to reposition and restructure the Gombe State Media Corporation GMC where he said the current condition of the State’s radio and television outfit was unacceptable.
He said Government constituted the Committee last year with tested techniques and media persons to recommend changes that will make the two stations meet modern standards.
Governor Dankwambo then assured that Government will study the recommendations of the committee with a view to implementing them. “Part of this administration’s vision is to reposition and improve our information and communication system”, the Governor assured.
