How Glo thrilled customers at Lagos fair

The 30th Lagos International Trade Fair might have been concluded but for many of the visitors who thronged Globacom’s pavilion while the fair lasted, the thrill of the event still reverberates because the telecommunication company spared no effort to make every visit memorable.

Globacom is customer-centric. It makes its customers the center of its world. It realizes that its existence is hinged on customer satisfaction. Therefore, it optimizes every opportunity to celebrate its customers. It bends backwards all the time to leave most customers satisfied. This attitude has continued to pull customers in multitude to the company and has shot it to the top of the sector. However, in spite of its obvious success, Globacom continues to devise new ways of putting smiles on the faces of its many customers.

This is what played out again at the Lagos International Trade Fair when the telecom giant stormed the trade fair ground with some of its brand ambassadors who not only thrilled the visitors but also bonded with them.

At the trade fair ground, Odunlade Adekola, a prominent Nollywood actor, and Jay Kolo were the cynosure of all eyes at the Glo pavilion. The duo entertained visitors to the stand with jokes, following up with questions and winners got free recharge cards, t-shirts, hand fans and other marketing items. This got to a head at the Glo Special Day held as attendees who answered simple questions on Globacom operations won various prizes. The winners included a 31-year old chemical engineer, Emmanuel Asiegbu; 44-year old Ifeanyi Adigwe, an artist; 26-year old Adejare Oloruntobi, Kolade Loveth, a civil servant with NDE; a publisher, Mr. Isiaka Momoh, a 28-year old journalist with DBN TV, Jummie Eze; and 48-year old civil servant, Mr. Taiwo Adelugba.

Others, including band members of the Navy Band that entertained, won free recharge cards in the “Fastest Fingers” competition.

Visitors, both those who won gifts and those who did not win, were full of praises for the company. They all spoke glowingly about Globacom, regaling others with how the company had made life easy for them through the provision of premium services at very reasonable rates. They also said that the company easily “leads the pack when it comes to telecommunication service provision in the country.”

While speaking at the Glo Special Day, Mr. Kamaldeen Shonibare, Globacom’s Head, Post Paid, lauded LCCI for the event. He also praised the company’s customers for their unflagging loyalty, adding that they had over the years made Globacom a great company through their consistent patronage.

Acording to Mr Shonibare, “Our participation in this fair stems from the firm belief we have in our country. We are proudly Nigerian and we love our heritage.”

He added that the theme of the 30th Lagos Trade Fair, “Positioning the Nigerian Economy for Diversification and Sustainable Growth, is germane, especially in this period of recession when Nigerians are devising ingenious strategies to grapple with existentialist issues.”

He said that Globacom is of the belief that the best coping strategy is for Nigerians to heed the clarion call to patronize home-made-goods.

According to him, “Our experience has shown that the benefits of patronising home made goods are multidimensional. Apart from the direct impact of boosting the local economy, such patronage has other spin offs which invariably inspire confidence in every aspect of national life. For instance, because of our heritage, we are always seeking for investments that will give Nigerians the best deal possible in the telecommunication industry. We make our profits here and we plough back the money into developing our network and the country at large. Like they say, we are not the portmanteau investors.”

He assured that Globacom, which is known as a game changer, having always made the provision of quality products at affordable rates its watchword, would always put the customer first by making available products that would always put a smile on the faces of its customers.

Following up on that, he said, “I am pleased to inform you that in this fair, we are showcasing our latest innovative and affordable telecommunications products like the Glo 4G LTE, ‘Borrow Me Data’ which gives subscribers endless internet connection as well as the three rejuvenated products namely “Double Free Tomorrow”, “11K per second for All” and “Glo IDD Packs.”

The Globacom chief said that Glo 4G LTE is the first nationwide 4G LTE mobile network in Nigeria. He added, “It is the fastest data network in Nigeria and is available in over 33 locations in the country.”

He also said that plans are on to extend the advanced network to more locations across the country. He then enjoined those who are not on the Globacom network to speedily join to experience gilt edged products and offerings at pocket friendly rates.

While thanking the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry for providing Globacom the platform to showcase its products, he assured the chamber of the company’s continued partnership to promote the best brands in the country.

In her response, President of LCCI, Dr (Mrs) Nike Akande, commended Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, for his uncommon entrepreneurial spirit and giant strides in the telecommunication industry which had made the Globacom brand a household name in the country.

The LCCI President said it was instructive that “the latest figures from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) confirmed Globacom as the leader in new lines subscription for amassing 5 million new subscribers between June 2015 and June 2016. This represents a growth of 68 per cent of all new subscriptions”.
