Nigeria has been ranked the 4th most powerful country in terms of military strength in Africa and 39th most powerful military in the world.
The 2024 ranking, carried out by Global Fire Power (GFP), was arrived at after indices like quantity of military units, weapon numbers, and diversity, available industries to the workforce, financial stability, logistical capability, and geography were considered.
With a power index of 0.0699, the United States (US) was ranked as the most powerful country in the world while Russia (0.0702) and China (0.0706) were ranked second and third, respectively.
