In line with the vision of the founder to reach out to people and alleviate suffering, the Fellow Support Humanitarian Foundation, last week, reached out to over 400 people to make Christmas a festive period for them by giving out materials and free medical services.
The outreach which held at the Redeemed Christian Church Winners Sanctuary, Mopol Barracks, Oyo State Police headquarters Ibadan, gave cash gifts and foodstuffs to 38 widows, medical screening for 192 people on malaria, diabetes, blood pressure, body mass index, and gave out drugs in an event managed by qualified medical personnel.
There was also clothing materials for the needy irrespective of age and writing materials for students as well as light refreshment for all the beneficiaries
Speaking during the outreach, the founder, Pastor Umoru Benedict David, said it was in fulfillment of a vision he received on July 25, 2023 at 2:20 am, adding that he initially didn’t have an idea about how or where to begin until God sent the major financial who wants to remain anonymous.
He said, “This is a dream come through, orchestrated and fulfilled by the Almighty God Himself, as the Chief Visioner. Though, for about two decades, I have always been deeply involved in acts and jobs of volunteerism and welfarism with the belief in the word of the scripture found in Matthew 6:1-4 that says take heed that you give not your alms before men to be seen of them, otherwise, ye have no reward of your father who’s in heaven…. when thou does alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand does…..
“Until I had this clear vision and revelation on July 25, 2023 at around 2:10 am where I heard Him said, “FSH” and I was deeply worried and troubled because FSH that I know is a medical abbreviation for Follicle Stimulating Hormone. I woke up trying to reflect the revelation but had to pray to God to tell me the meaning. He again said, haven’t you been praying for this? What? I asked? He went on to say, “Fellow support Humanitarian.” It’s thus time to launch out!
In 1Timothy 1:5, the end of the commandment is charity out of pure heart, and of a good conscience and of faith unfeigned. I woke up, prayed and in morning shared the vision with the family. Since then, we kept on trusting God for breakthroughs in this regard because the how, when and where he didn’t tell me.
“And He didn’t disappoint us. So, suddenly and amazingly, he confirmed His word by sending a man who we only had brief moments of contact, who called and said, “I want to help your ministry”. From that moment things began to take shape till this Saturday that we ultimately have to gather to witness this first edition of the foundation’s outreach with hundreds in attendance. No doubt, it was a mission accomplished with little or no stress because God is the Chief Visioner and we’re just human vessels in his hand,” he said.
Fellow Support Humanitarian Foundation is an NGO with visions subsumed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1,2,3,4,5,16 and 17 as well as the International Declaration of Human Rights -25 and 26.
“We are set to meet the needs of the less privileged in the society by His grace,” Pastor Umoru said.
