Chairman of the state chapter of the association, Bishop Stephen Mamza, in a statement made available to TribuneChurch, called on churches to ensure tight security during the festive season, and the leaders to endeavour to restrict all activities to day time.
“In the light of the present security challenges being faced in our state – the Mubi mosque bomb blasts and the incident in Numan, we are all called to be on the alert, especially as Christmas approaches.
“All churches should ensure tight security especially on Sundays. There is credible security information that there are plans to carry out attacks on places of worship in the coming weeks. Let us all be on the alert.
“Let church activities be encouraged to take place during the days rather than nights. Suspicious movements or behaviour should not be taken for granted. This message should be sent to all pastors, church leaders and Christian faithful,” Mamza stated.
