THE Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose on Monday, announced that the state’s Commissioner for Environment, Chief Bisi Kolawole, will serve as the director-general of his deputy Kolapo Olusola-Eleka Campaign Council.
This is just as Governor Fayose intensified his campaign for his deputy, Prof Kolapo Olusola as his preferred aspirant for the PDP in the July 14 governorship poll.
Kolawole, a former member of the state House of Assembly, a government statement said, would coordinate the campaign activities of the deputy governor.
The government statement, signed by Governor Fayose’s assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Mr Lere Olayinka, was, however, silent on who are the other members of the campaign council.
Speaking on the appointment, Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Mr Jackson Adebayo, said the appointment was expected as the various groups in the party were jostling for the party’s ticket.
Adebayo said: “The party welcomes the appointment of Chief Kolawole, and we are also hoping that other aspirants and groups within the party would appoint theirs for an egalitarian election.
“At the end of our primaries, the party as a body would come up with a central campaign body when the time comes.”
