Respite has come the way of ailing actor, Ojo Arowosafe, popularly known as Fadeyi Oloro as the Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Wednesday, through the Director General, Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture, Mr Wale Ojo-Lanre, paid him a visit at Itele Ota, Ogun State.
The actor, who has been off the screen for a while, is well-known for his portrayal of a dreaded movie character in the 80s and early 90s. He had been missing in action after he was said to have been down with an ailment that has kept him bedridden for months.
Fadeyi, R learnt, had been diagnosed of tuberculosis and prostrate related diseases.
At his home, Ojo-Lanre said the governor was touched by the health condition of the veteran actor and decided to act.
Ojo-Lanre, who was accompanied by Founder, Women Arise Foundation, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, presented a cash gift to the actor and also said the state government promised to do more for him.
Arowosafe, while responding to the governor’s gesture, said he was happy that the state governor did not ignore him, adding that “I am grateful to him and pray for his success in office and his endeavours.”
Speaking on his ailment, Fadeyi said “the ailment started in February. I was later diagnosed with tuberculosis and later prostrate related diseases. I would have been dead by now because the doctor was not sure whether I would survive when they took me to the hospital but God gave me a second chance.”
