Fayemi has renew people’s hope in government ― APC chieftain

Osinkolu

The Director-General, Buhari/Osinbajo campaign council in the 2019 presidential poll in Ekiti State, Dr Olusegun Osinkolu, has said prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions by the present administration has reduced the level of poverty in the state.

Osinkolu said Governor Kayode Fayemi had succeeded in garnering the confidence of Ekiti people by not reneging on his promise to make human capital development the hallmark of his administration and commitment to defray the  N57 billion arrears of workers’ emoluments.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) added that the airport facility being proposed by Governor Fayemi would promote the economy of the state when commences operation.

Osinkolu said such a facility will attract to Ekiti, investors who could not access the state through roads, saying this will revamp the economy apart from creating jobs for Ekiti professionals and skilled youths.

In a statement in Ado-Ekiti congratulating Fayemi on his one year in office on Tuesday, Osinkolu described Fayemi’s second term as rewarding and eventful,  saying the people are gradually having hope in leadership and erasing the widespread impression that all politicians are liars.

“Ekiti is predominantly a civil service state and there was no way the economy that rests heavily on salaries and pensions can survive effectively without inflicting hardship on the people.

“That was what Ekiti experienced under the immediate past administration. But with the advent of Governor Fayemi and the culture of regular payment, poverty is gradually subsiding and hope is being redeemed.

“Even the poorest man in the state today can enrol his child in any public school due to robust free education policy in place,” he said.

He added that the proposed airport project is long overdue in Ekiti state, describing it as a facility that has a high tendency of wooing investors to the state.

According to him: “Air transportation all over the world has become a veritable avenue for business attraction and promotion and Ekiti as a critical section of our nation deserves one.

“I believe the facility will change the face of business in Ekiti. It will also complement the efforts of Fayemi to attract international agencies like AfDB, world bank and others to our dear state.”
