Fashola promises timely completion of Abuja-Kaduna road repairs

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Raji Fashola, has restated his ministry’s commitment to completing and delivering the emergency repair works on the Abuja – Kaduna Dual Carriageway on or before the completion deadline which is February 28, 2017.

He expressed satisfaction with the quality and level of work done so far by the contractor, Messers CGC Nig. Ltd while on an inspection tour of the project recently.

The minister noted that the palliative works was to repair the several failed sections, potholes and multiple cracks on the highway pending extensive rehabilitation work to be awarded later.

The 50 days emergency repair work, which will cost a little over N1billion, was initiated to reduce travel time and accidents on the route as Abuja-bound local and international flights, will between March 8 and April18th land and take off at the Kaduna International airport, Kaduna.

The project brief showed that the project is 72.46 percent completed as at February 9, 2017.
