The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, on Thursday, inaugurated 850 metres internal road within the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta
Fashola represented by the Federal Controller of Works, Forosola Oloyede, said that the federal government had rehabilitated and constructed internal road networks in about 64 tertiary federal institutions.
The Minister added that the FG had handed over 46 as of March 2022 and is ready to hand over 18 and still attending to 19 roads in similar institutions across the country.
Fashola submitted that the FG would continue to bridge the gap in the infrastructural deficit through the process of repairs, renewal and construction on major highways, in schools and in other federal institutions.
“It is undebatable that quality of Health care delivery will be impacted by the quality of infrastructure and the environment and those who doubt it should simply listen to some of the feedback from staff in the Hospitals where this type of intervention has taken place,” he added
The Chief Medical Director of FMC, Prof. Adewale Musa-Olomu, appreciated President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration for the intervention.
Musa -Olomu said that the construction of internal road projects within the hospital would create a smooth and conducive environment both for the centre and students.
