An explosive suspected to have been planted by bandits has killed a yet-to-be-specified number of persons and many others injured in Iware, Ardo-Kola local government area of Taraba State on Tuesday evening.
A source from the area, Mr Gbaabu, who spoke to Nigerian Tribune explained that the incident happened at the local drinking joint (Burukutu), near the town’s cattle market.
Iware is a town situated 30km away from Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
Nigerian Tribune gathered from the locals that many people have been confirmed dead and several others who sustained various injuries are receiving treatment in the hospital.
Meanwhile, Taraba State Police PPRO, Usman Abdullahi, is yet to confirm the incident as calls put to his cell phone were not responding as of the time of press.
